FAQs about becoming a TOT tutor

What does it mean by flexible schedule? Can I tutor whenever? 

Yes, you can teach whenever and however long you want. You will be making your own schedule.

Do I need to tutor for a certain amount of hours every week?      

No, there is no such requirement. For example, if you have a busy week, you can choose not to teach at all. 

How much do I get paid?                                                                   

The base price for one-on-one tutoring is $17/ hour (CAD), and group tutoring is $27/ hour (CAD). Bonuses will apply to the base prices based on your experience, education level, and how long you work with us.

What subjects can I tutor?                                                               

You can teach any university level course and subject you want based on your expertise.

Is there any limitations to how many courses I can teach?           

Tutors can teach as many courses as they want as long as they qualify for tutoring those courses.

How do I show proof of the subjects I can teach?                      

For every subject you want to tutor, it should show on your transcript that you have taken that course.

Is the tutoring online?                                                                      

The tutoring is fully online. You can create your own profile on our website, and provide any details you want to share with the students.

What kind of tools do I need for tutoring?                                      

You just need a computer or laptop and good internet connection. We have a cutting-edge virtual classroom system that includes a call system, whiteboard, graphic calculator and many more necessary tools, so you don't need to buy any extra tools for tutoring.

What documents do I need to submit for my application?           

We just need your resume and transcript for proof of qualification.
